Hartsel

Hartsel, Colorado, also known as The Heart of Colorado due to its location at the geographic center of Colorado, was founded in 1880. Sam Hartsel, a local farmer and rancher, lived in the area and developed the Hartsel hot springs. As a result of that, the area became known for its great hot springs in which many of the residents like to spend their hard-earned free time.
Highway 24 runs through the center of this quaint town which offers a restaurant, coffeehouse, gas station and a few stores. Hartsels location is convenient to several larger communities; Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Canon City and Buena Vista.
